What is a Doula?

What is the difference between Doula and a Midwife?

What is the difference between Doula and a Midwife?

A doula provides emotional and physical support to you before, during, and after your pregnancy and childbirth.

A certified doula has taken a training program and passed an exam on how to help before, during, and after your pregnancy.

What is the difference between Doula and a Midwife?

Midwives have medical training and focus on delivering a healthy baby during the birth process. Doulas, on the other hand, focuses on the mother's needs, offering mental, physical, and emotional support. Doulas do not have medical training or experience and cannot substitute for a midwife or doctor.

Birth Preparedness

What is the difference between Doula and a Midwife?

Birth Preparedness

Birth preparedness is an essential aspect of the journey to motherhood, equipping expectant parents with the knowledge and tools needed for a confident birthing experience. It involves understanding the stages of labor, recognizing the signs of labor onset, and knowing when to seek medical help. Additionally, birth preparedness encompasses creating a birth plan, exploring pain management options, and ensuring that support systems are in place.

About Dr. Stephanie Lett

Alongside her love for all things maternity, Dr. Lett is a licensed mental health clinician and the owner of Love Out Loud Counseling and Consulting Services. She is very passionate about bridging the gap in maternal health disparities. One thing that is not addressed enough during the maternity process is the mental health and hormonal changes that take place in both the mother and her partner. Dr. Lett’s mission is to assist her clients in prenatal care through postpartum care while also offering mental health services. She has 3 beautiful children of her own. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, fishing, interior decorating, and singing. She looks forward to the opportunity to walk alongside with you in your journey to parenthood!
